Sweet Root Village

Lauren Anderson and Rachel Bridgwood are co-founders of Sweet Root Village, a floral design company located in the Washington DC area. Their designs have been featured in Martha Stewart, Washingtonian Bride and Groom, Style Me Pretty and Anthropology.

Founded in 2010 from a mutual passion of flowers and all things creative and beautiful, Sweet Root Village specializes in unique and customized floral design for weddings and special events. Prior to meeting Rachel, Lauren worked in the floral industry for several years, cultivating a long-time passion for flowers, stemming from her great grandmother who was a florist and great grandfather who was an orchid-grower. Rachel came on the scene with experience in graphic design and some photography and a love of organization and details and fell quickly in love with flowers. They have since been joined by two fabulous ladies on their design team and a huge group of amazing creative hands who tackle their events with them on the weekends! Spending each day bringing joy to others through floral design is what Lauren and Rachel love most, followed quickly by a super love of business and problem solving, and also of ice cream. All of the ice cream.
